Why does the Sentricon System work?
One of the main reasons why The Sentricon system works so well is that it targets the Queen of the colony, not just some random termites in the colony!

The Queen can live for 20 - 25 years and can lay a new termite every 15 seconds or around 6,000 fresh termites a day! That's why it is imperative to ensure that the Termite Queen is killed and killed quickly!
When a bait is placed into a Sentricon Monitoring Station, it introduces the active ingredient, Hexaflumuron, which is not a registered poison, into the colony.
Unlike
most other chemicals which rely on termites walking through a poisonous
substance, the Advanced Termite Control System is different
because the termites eat the active ingredient which keeps them alive
for as long as 7 weeks giving the termites ample time to spread the
chemical during feeding thoughout the colony.
With
the Queen, her Kings, Soldiers and Alates (babies) not having a
digestive system, they rely on the workers to bring them food, as the
workers return and feed the rest of the colony they infect them as well.
Research
by the C.S.I.R.O has shown that the Queen of the colony is generally
one of the first ones to be infected and generally dies within 4 weeks
of the active ingredient entering the colony!
